With 14 years’ experience as a professional graphic designer, both in-house and in an agency setting, Rebecca has an obvious love of design and typography that shows in all the works that she does. A believer in the power of white space and creating an invitation to read in all of her designs, she holds fast to the adage "Don’t confuse legibility with communication…” and strives to ensure clear and consistent messaging. Drawing on her education in the Fine Arts, Rebecca thrives on getting the most out of colour, imagery, layout and typography for clients, creating distinctive and memorable designs.
Rebecca is an award-winning designer who thrives on working with people, exploring design trends and “thinking outstide the box” whenever possible. A former instructor at the Alberta College of Art + Design (Graphic Design and Typography) it is not surprising to find the “teacher”sharing space with the “designer” as she helps clients navigate the ins and outs of good design and effective communication. Her favourite part of the design process? Brainstorming with fellow creatives because that’s where the small details and big picture ideas of design are generated. She believes in a strategic approach to communicating ideas and enhancing/maintaining brands and works to consistently provide sound creative solutions for her clients.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts accompanied by a secondary focus in English literature. She followed that with a Bachelor of Design degree from the Alberta College of Art and Design in Visual Communication. She continues her hands-on approach to learning and studying of design yearly through conferences such as Toronto’s DesignThinkers Conference, the HOW design Conference, Brand New Conference or the GDC sponsored Carl Dair Typography Workshop.
