“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” – Steve Jobs

Jennifer is the first to praise all things northern since she landed in Yellowknife in 1999. Though she has tried leaving, she always returns.

Jen is an accomplished designer and brings fresh energy to the Tait art department. With two decades in the business working for a variety of clients across Canada, Jennifer has gained invaluable experience over the years running projects from start to finish. She manages this through traditional design disciplines, the need for research-driven understanding of goals and priorities, and working together with the team and clients.

Often, deep in thought, she is constantly percolating ideas and solutions in her mind. Jen is obsessed with typographic details, clean layout and design, and creating distinctive communication pieces.

In the summer of 2014, Jennifer travelled to Europe for a few months as she was one of fifteen students accepted into a typography program in Rome, Italy. Jen worked with her fellow classmates from around the globe and regained insight for the role typography plays in everyday messaging.

Outside of the agency, Jennifer is actively involved with the community and will volunteer her time readily. Jen has served three consecutive terms with the National Executive Board in Ottawa, Ontario for the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada. Currently she is VP, Communications (interim) and Past-President & Treasurer for the Arctic Chapter. She is also passionate about conserving the environment, and lends a hand for Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (NWT Chapter). Jen also gets her “kicks” by practicing taekwondo weekly, including teaching kids’ classes twice a week.
