Public/media relations

Public and media relations build something you can’t get from advertising alone: trust. Things like media coverage, articles in publications and connecting in large and small groups with your audience can help you communicate in compelling ways. Of course, dealing with the media and the public also has risks, and it takes experience and finesse to do it well.

Tait consultants have years of experience and a well-equipped toolbox to help you hone in on your communications goals first, then select the right tools and tactics to get the job done.

What we bring to the table:

Showcase of Public/media relations

NTPC speeches

The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) did not have a communications manager in place and required the services of a speech writer for its CEO and responsible minister for two important upcoming speaking commitments. Both the CEO’s presentation and the minister’s speech would need to convey substantive and complex information related to the energy sector and the business of NTPC.

Frog Lake and Mikisew Cree First Nations media strategy

In early January 2013, the Frog Lake First Nation and Mikisew Cree First Nation challenged the legality of the Federal Government’s omnibus bills, Bill C-38 and Bill C-45, which they identified as having serious implications for the protection of First Nations land and treaty rights. Tait was hired to plan, organize, manage, and implement a national media strategy to gain attention for this constitutional challenge.

De Beers socio-economic reports

As per its socio-economic agreement with the GNWT, De Beers must report annually on progress against commitments in the agreement. It also wanted to do so in a way that would be engaging to stakeholders. So in 2010, and again in 2013 onward, De Beers worked with Tait to produce an annual socio-economic report that not only meets the De Beers brand, but tells interesting stories of De Beers Canada and its role in the NWT.
