History in the Making – The History of the Legislative Assembly of the NWT

Challenge

1999 was a pivotal year in the history of the political and natural landscape of the NWT. It marked the creation of Nunavut, hived off of what was previously the Northwest Territories. That year, the Legislative Assembly published the aptly named book, ‘History in the Making.’ However, the NWT’s political development continued to briskly unfold. The second edition of ‘History in the Making’, documents the Legislative Assembly’s 11 years since the division of the NWT.

A significant challenge was to create a book for a broad audience, each with specific interests and requirements: elected officials, community leaders, media, and the general public.

Solution

‘History in the Making’, 2^nd edition was developed as a coffee table style book that highlights more than a decade of progress through skillful use of text and photos.
